Read­ing a great book my John Maxwell called “Make Today Count” and on page 37 he high­lights a Russ­ian proverb that goes as follows:

Before going to war — pray once

Before going to sea — pray twice

Before get­ting mar­ried — pray three times

In other words before going out on any poten­tially risky endeavor give it the con­sid­er­a­tion and atten­tion it deserves.
