One of the craziest things about living in this new digital world is the number of passwords we have to remember. This is especially true when you work in online marketing as I do.

Not only do you have to remember all your own passwords but also a lot of the passwords of your clients too. This is why I’m so happy I started to use a password manager called LastPass.

Best Password managers

Now I had been using another password manager called RoboForm, which did the job fairly well but after trying LastPass I think I’ve found my password manager of choice. Even though RoboForm has the enviable claim of never being hacked and LastPass famously was but now I’m confident they have learnt from their mistakes and I now have even more security on my account in the form of 2FA (Two-factor authentication) which should technically make it impenetrable.

There are a number of other things that appeal to me about LastPass, including the usability of the software, which integrates directly into my browser namely Google Chrome. However, I also found that it directly integrated into all my other browsers too, which is great.

I also really love the auto-fill option and the auto login functions, which make signing up to online forms and logging into online websites an absolute breeze.

The other great thing is the price of the software at only $12 per year for the premium version, which includes a mobile app for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and even Blackberry. I also noticed that they have also included a new version, which works on the new Microsoft Surface tablet, which really shows me that they are up to date and have a good development team.

So if you want to forget the hassle of trying to remember every password and also the security risk of using the same password over and over I would suggest downloading a free copy of LastPass manager by clicking the logo below.

  • I’m using Splash Data’s SplashID Safe and I find it very easy to use and more versatile in terms of record organization. It can secure non-password data whether sensitive for business or confidential personal details because it offers more advantage as an information safe – not just a regular password manager. Highly recommended.

  • I actually switched from Lastpass to RoboForm back after the second security breach, Lastpass was a decent service, just wish they would’ve taken security more seriously. RoboForm hasn’t had a breach ever so the choice was clear for me.

  • I, like you tried Lastpass, but I still like RoboForm password manager much better. RoboForm feels more intergrated to me. Maybe it’s because I’ve been using it for so long that it just feels more natural to me. I don’t like a lot of the Lastpass interfaces. Either way, I think the most important message is that people should be using pssword managers.

  • @Ruby – I think LastPass have finally got their act in order in that regard. The other key thing that all these password managers recommend is choosing a strong MASTER password. I think that would solve a lot of people’s issues with compromises.

@Jessica – 100% agree everyone nowadays should be using password managers and making sure like I said to Ruby that they choose a very strong MASTER password.

  • I have used both LastPass and RoboForm and also found myself switching back to RoboForm. Unlike LastPass, RoboForm offers phone support that allows you to call and talk to an actual person in the U.S. (Fairfax, VA) twelve hours a day and web based support 24/7. RoboForm was the first password manager on the market and it is very clear that other programs like LastPass still have a lot of catching up to do. I strongly suggest RoboForm by Siber Systems to anyone looking for a password manager.
