Introducing Constant Contact

This Constant Contact review will discuss the concept of email marketing and why it’s not dead and how using it will lead to increased loyalty and trust online which means only one thing for you – more sales/revenues.

And if you are looking to get the best deal on Constant Contact, I will let you know on what to expect in the way of Constant Contact coupon codes.

What is Constant Contact?

Constant Contact is an email marketing platform for as the name suggests keeping in constant contact with your audience and clients. Don’t let the “experts” or “latest study” fool you into believing that email is dead, on the contrary everyone checks their email every day and a statistics from the Direct Marketing Association in 2015 shows that for every $1 spent on email marketing, you will get a $38 return on investment.

That’s 3,800% return on investment and if that doesn’t make you jump up and type an email I don’t know what will!

One thing that really helps achieve results like that is having a reputation for delivering quality emails that help people with what they want and need and if you do this your readers will open your emails and engage with what you have to say.

This means two things – increased loyalty which then leads to more revenue each time you have a new product launch or affiliate offer.

It’s powerful stuff and why this Constant Contact review is a high priority for you to look at and take action on before the day ends.

I say this as they have a 30-day free trial right here.

Who is the team behind Constant Contact?

Randy Parker

Randy Parker founded the company in 1995 as Roving Software and worked out of a “cramped attic in Brookline” and Gail Goodman joined as its CEO in 1999. In 2004, they underwent a complete re-branding to the Constant Contact we now know and went public in 2007.

In 2015, Endurance International Group acquired Constant Contact for approximately $1.1 billion.

The company has over 1,200 employees and a history of delivering on promises so you can invest into this company with confidence to manage this most important task of email marketing.

How to use Constant Contact?

For this review today I want to focus on the email editor and how to schedule an email in Constant Contact. This is best practice to allow yourself to sit down at your computer and type up all the words, images and other content blocks you want and then schedule it for a future time.

It’s amazing how for example if you come back to your email campaign in a few hours how you make it better and importantly check things like grammar and add any new information you might now have before sending.

So have a look at the video below and especially note the content blocks available to you in the editor at the 0:25 mark and the scheduling features at 0:35.

One more thing!

Here is a screenshot of the editing experience when typing out an email. (Click the image to enlarge)

A few thoughts on the above

The above chart perfectly illustrates a point I will make again in my conclusion about email marketing apps.

There is little difference between them and often pricing is almost identical too as you can see above. My best advice is to make the most use of your 30-day trials at a few companies (see alternatives below) and see which email editor and back-end interface you are most at home with.

Ask yourself the question, “Which email marketing app can I see myself using on at least a weekly basis to send messages to my audience?” This is the bare minimum frequency you need to do really well with email marketing and join the 3,800% return on investment crowd.

You can do it!

Constant Contact Pros

  • Easy to use to send emails
  • Free 30-day trial to test this for yourself
  • High email deliverability
  • Email Marketing Automation
  • Has a mobile layout designer
  • Specially designed for eCommerce stores email
  • Advanced features like polls and surveys set it apart

Constant Contact Cons

  • There are slightly more affordable options

Are there Up-sells?

There is no upsell with Constant Contact.

The closest thing you will ever see to this is when logged in and you are reaching the limits of your subscribers which at $20 per month is 500 subscribers. It will then gently nudge you toward upgrading or pruning your list before allowing you to send more emails.

This is common practice in the industry and not overbearing.

Constant Contact Alternatives?

There is no shortage of email marketing companies to choose from and the end of the day it comes down to ease of use, features and pricing.

The best advice is to try a few email marketing companies as listed below and see which one you can see yourself using at least weekly to email. That is the one to choose because differences in pricing and features is marginal.

Alternatives to consider:

Do I recommend Constant Contact?

First, I recommend everybody who owns a business and a website should engage in email marketing. It’s a gold mine when used correctly, and this is another area where Constant Contact shines is by teaching you to be a better email marketer. This is priceless.

The other area Constant Contact wins is their user interface and templates that make sending emails a breeze as it should be. When choosing an email marketing tool you want one that allows you to focus on your message to your readers and not the technicalities of managing an email marketing platform and server.

Many other companies over complicate this and the result is people stop sending emails and get no results. I’m glad to say the risk of that happening with Constant Contact is low, and it gets two thumbs up from me.
