A feature layer for bbPress that adds AJAX voting, solved-topic badges, private replies, attachments, Elementor templates and a unified admin builder — turning bare-bones forums into modern communities.

- Elementor widgets and Gutenberg blocks included
- Open source on WordPress.org — free for commercial sites
Pro
- Real-time notifications, pre-made templates, anonymous posting
- Advanced attachments and topic approval workflow

Additional Pricing Information
Free core covers the basics; Pro unlocks admin notifications, enhanced attachments, mini profiles and topic-approval flows at roughly $49/year (single site) or $99 lifetime-equivalent deals during promos. The SaaSzilla lifetime run ($49 for 5 sites / $99 for 15 / $199 unlimited) is sold out, and DealMirrors parallel run expired too. One structural caveat: Spider Themes is steering the product toward Forumax, a standalone AI-powered forum plugin — check which codebase your purchase actually maps to before paying.

What is BBP CORE?
bbPress is beloved for being lightweight and abandoned for being bare — and BBP CORE (Spider Themes) monetizes exactly that gap. One plugin layers modern community mechanics onto bbPress: AJAX voting floats the best replies, solved-topic badges turn support boards into searchable knowledge bases, private replies let members raise sensitive issues without airing them publicly, and upgraded attachment handling makes real support exchanges possible. For presentation, Elementor widgets and one-click templates drag forums out of 2012 styling into whatever brand system your site already uses, while the unified admin builder gives moderators one screen instead of seven. It is rated 5 stars on WordPress.org across 1,000+ installs, loads conditionally so it will not tax non-forum pages, and the free core is complete enough to evaluate honestly. The complication is strategic, not technical: Spider Themes is visibly steering toward Forumax, a standalone AI-powered forum plugin, and both marketplace lifetime runs (SaasZilla, DealMirror) have closed. So the calculus splits: running bbPress today? Test the free version immediately — it is the cheapest meaningful upgrade that ecosystem has. Choosing a forum platform fresh in 2026? Compare wpForo and the Forumax direction first, because the ground here is moving.
Key Features
- AJAX reply voting — Community-ranked answers rise to the top without page reloads
- Solved topics — Mark threads resolved with visible badges for knowledge-base clarity
- Private replies — Members answer visible only to forum owners for sensitive questions
- Media attachments — File uploads on replies with higher size limits and bulk management in Pro
- Elementor widgets & templates — Display forums anywhere with importable, customizable designs
- Unified forum builder — Create, delete and filter forums/topics from one organized admin view
- Notifications — Alerts for admins and users on replies, votes and subscribed activity
- Moderation extras — Topic approval queues, anonymous posting and mini-profiles with direct links
Who is it for?
- Sites already committed to bbPress that want modern engagement without migrating platforms
- Product-support forums using solved-topic workflows to deflect tickets
- Elementor-based sites wanting forums that visually match the brand
- Membership and course communities needing private replies and moderated onboarding
Who is it NOT for?
- Anyone choosing a forum platform from scratch — evaluate standalone options first
- Non-Woo/non-bbPress stacks: it literally cannot run without bbPress installed
- Large-scale communities needing enterprise moderation, SSO or scaling headroom
- Buyers expecting the lifetime deal to still exist — both marketplace runs are closed
The Bottom Line
BBP CORE is the most sensible upgrade bbPress has gotten in years: voting, solved badges, private replies and Elementor templates attack precisely the reasons people abandon bbPress, and the free version proves it before you pay. The asterisk is existential — the developer is pivoting the product into Forumax, a standalone AI forum plugin, and both lifetime storefronts have closed. My honest read: if you run bbPress and recognize the pain points, grab the free version today and judge Pro on merit; if you are picking a forum home in 2026, trial wpForo and watch the Forumax pivot before betting either way. What you should not do is pay secondhand-markup prices for a "lifetime" slot that no longer officially exists.
