The brief
Chelsea Lenore needed more than a brochure site. She needed a digital presence that (1) felt as warm and elegant as her live performances, (2) she could manage entirely on her own, and (3) actively worked to grow her business by turning every happy client into a public Google review — the single most powerful local SEO signal for a service business.
01Custom frontend design & build
The site was designed and built from scratch around the client’s identity — no templates. A soft ivory, blush, and champagne-gold palette, editorial serif typography, and a signature arched “flower frame” motif give the brand a refined, wedding-appropriate atmosphere that carries through every page: home, weddings, events, testimonials, and review flow. The result is fast, fully responsive, and unambiguously hers — nothing about it looks off-the-shelf.
02A custom backend the client can actually run
Under the hood is a fully custom content management system built for a non-technical owner. The admin area is branded to match the site and organised around how Chelsea works, not how a developer works:
- A command-centre dashboard showing live business health — new enquiries, in-progress work, and reviews awaiting approval — at a glance.
- One-click editing of every page, menu, and the header, footer, and site-wide SEO settings.
- An enquiry inbox with a built-in new/in-progress workflow and unread counts.
- A media manager for photos and a testimonial library with publish/hide controls.
- The whole CMS is deployed on a zero-maintenance automated pipeline: every update is deployed to production automatically, with no servers to babysit.
03The integrated Google review engine (built to move the needle locally)
The centrepiece is a review system wired directly into Google Maps — built specifically to begin ranking this client in local SEO. When a couple or client finishes working with Chelsea, the site prompts them to leave a review. Here’s what happens next:
- Five-star reviews are captured on the site, then the review text is automatically copied to the client’s clipboard and they’re handed a direct one-click link to post it on Chelsea’s Google Maps listing — a frictionless path from “happy customer” to “public Google review.”
- Reviews under five stars are kept private, not published, and Chelsea is notified so she can follow up personally and turn a private concern into a resolution before it ever reaches Google.
- Every submission lands in the CMS as “pending” for Chelsea to approve and publish, with email notifications and proper moderation.
- The system is protected against spam and abuse with rate limiting and honeypot traps, so the review stream stays authentic.
04Foundation for local SEO
Alongside the review engine, the site was engineered to be understood by Google:
- Structured data (LocalBusiness schema) declaring the business name, location, service area, phone, and social profiles so search engines can correctly map the business to Auckland.
- Automatically generated sitemap, robots rules, canonical URLs, and rich social sharing metadata on every page.
- A dedicated testimonials page and review page, both feeding fresh, authentic content and links toward the Google profile.
The result
Chelsea now owns a beautiful, on-brand website she can update herself, a fully managed customer review pipeline that turns real experiences into public Google reviews, and the technical foundation — accurate local listings, structured data, and a steady stream of new reviews — that search engines reward with visibility in local results. In short: a website that doesn’t just look good, but actively sells and ranks for her.
