What is LookAway?

LookAway is a native macOS health-and-productivity utility from the small studio Mystical Bits, LLC that takes charge of your screen habits while you work. Instead of firing a blunt timer at your face, it watches what you're doing and waits for a natural lull, then gives you a heads-up before a break overlay appears with a floating countdown that follows your cursor. It knows to stay quiet during meetings, calls, screen recording, video playback, fullscreen games, and the deep-focus apps you choose, and it can sync breaks to your iPhone or iPad through the companion LookAway Mirror app so a Mac break doesn't become a phone-scrolling session. On top of the break engine it adds posture nudges and blink reminders, plus deep customization: adjustable timers, calming sounds or your own audio, custom backgrounds and gradients, and personalized motivation messages. Power users can hook into AppleScript and Shortcuts to run real automations at break start or end, and the app integrates with menu bar controls, Focus Filters, keyboard shortcuts, and system light/dark appearance.
